The Botany Swarm is a New Zealand ice hockey club in Auckland that was founded in 2005 and plays in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League . The home games are played at Paradice Botany .
history
The club was founded in 2005 under the name South Auckland Swarm together with the New Zealand Ice Hockey League , in which he became one of four founding members. In their first season, the team reached only the third of four places in the regular season. The team then moved into the finals three times in a row. First, the team lost just 3: 3 and 4: 5 against Southern Stampede in 2006 . After being renamed Botany Swarm before the 2007 season, the team became champions twice in a row and prevailed against the Canterbury Red Devils . First 7-0 in 2007 and finally just 3-2 after extra time in the 2008 season.
With a 3-1 final win over the West Auckland Admirals , the Botany Swarm secured the championship again in the 2010 season. A year later they won 5-3 against Southern Stampede.
