The Botnnuten (Norwegian for base summit ) is a 1460 m high, rocky and isolated mountain in Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica . It rises into Botnhøgdene south of Havsbotn and 35 km southwest of Shirase Glacier . The mountain is the southernmost elevation in the area of Havsbotn.
Norwegian cartographers, who probably named it after its geographical location and its proximity to the Havsbotn, mapped the mountain using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 .
