The Botorpsströmmen is a river and river system in eastern Småland , in the municipality of Västervik in the Swedish province of Kalmar län .

The river forms the outflow of lake Långsjön west of Västervik . He leaves it on its east bank near Ankarsrum . It flows through the lakes Hällsjön , Flugen , Maren and Ålsjön , which it drains via three routes to the Baltic Sea .

The main source river is the Tynnsån , which drains the lake Tynn . Including source rivers, the total length of the Botorpsströmmen is 75 km. The catchment area covers 998.8 km². The flow- regulated lake Yxern is located in the catchment area. There are several smaller hydropower plants on the course of the Botorpsströmmen.
