Ankarsrum is a place in the municipality of Västervik in the Swedish province of Kalmar Lan .
Ankarsrum, located between the lakes Långsjön and Hällsjön in the historical province of Småland , was formed around a traditional iron foundry. The Ankarsrum bruk plant (today Ankarsrum Industries AB ), founded in 1655, is one of the oldest companies in the country. In its heyday in the first half of the 20th century, the Ankarsrum plant was the leading manufacturer of stoves, stoves and bathtubs. Today the work has lost its importance and the population of the place has decreased from 1957 in 1970 to 1234 (2015).
The illustrator Harald Wiberg (1908–1986) was born in Ankarsrum.
