The Bottrill Head is a rugged headland at the Fallières coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located on the east side of the Bourgeois Fjord and forms the north side of the entrance to the Dogs Leg Fjord .
The formation was first measured in 1936 during the British Graham Land Expedition (1934–1937) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer John Rymill . The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) carried out a new survey in 1948. The latter named the headland after Harold Bottrill (1895-1948), board member and later general director of the shipping company Maclean & Stapledon SA in Montevideo , Uruguay , who supported both Rymill's expedition and the FIDS in their work.
