Bowling Green (New York City)
Bowling Green is a small public park in south Manhattan in New York City . He is best known as the beginning of Broadway and with the bronze statue of the Charging Bull . It is the oldest park in New York and dates back to the beginnings of Fort Amsterdam. The park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places . At the turn of the century, mainly large shipping companies such as White Star Line and Cunard Line were based here .

The park is oval and is enclosed by two axes of Broadway. At the south end is the entrance portal of the Alexander Hamilton US Custom House , also known as the Museum of the Native Indians. The park itself is fenced off by a low fence, and there are tables and chairs in the park that are mainly used by workers in the Financial District at lunchtime . There is a large fountain in the middle, at the northern tip of the property is the Charging Bull. The former street that ran at the southern end of the park was also called Bowling Green, but it was replaced by a subway in the course of the modernization of the city System paved over to create the entrance for the subway station.
The Standard Oil Building , the Bowling Green Offices , One Broadway Building and the Cunard Building are in the immediate vicinity of the park .
