The Susegana Bridge is one of a group of Roman bridges on the Via Claudia Augusta in the northern Italian town of Susegana , from which it stands out due to its flat arch, which allows it to be classified as an early segment arch bridge . It was built in the first half of the 1st century AD.

The modest building is the fifth of six ancient pedestrian bridges in the fraction Colfosco, where a nameless creek below the local road bridge, just before the junction to Falzè di Piave crossed. The 5.3 m wide bridge rests on a single arch made of eleven irregular wedge stones, which, with a clear width of 3 m, has a very low pitch compared to ancient times .

Such material-saving flat arch constructions occur in an unusually high number of Roman bridges in the Veneto region , so that there has already been talk of a construction school. One reason for the local concentration could have been the special topographical conditions of the coastal region, whose soft alluvial soil was not very suitable for the typically massive semicircular arched bridges of the Romans. In addition, the lower rise of segment arch bridges in the flat coastal landscape was probably perceived as less arduous and therefore beneficial for foot and truck traffic.

The bridge, which according to reports was still in good condition in 1938, now shows signs of deterioration and the like. a. in the area of their arch gussets .
