The B & T MP9 is a modernized version of the TMP - submachine gun , by the Swiss defense company B & T is manufactured in Thun.
history
The B&T MP9 was produced under license by Brügger & Thomet from 1992 to 2001 as an improved version of the TMP. Steyr Mannlicher developed the TMP, but stopped production in 2001. B&T then bought all the patents, concept drawings and rights to the TMP design from Steyr-Mannlicher and has been producing the B&T MP9 on its own ever since.
B&T revised the entire concept in order to bring it back onto the market as a modernized "MP9" (submachine gun 9 millimeters) and to fill the gap between row fire pistols such as the Beretta 93R or Glock 18 and conventional submachine guns such as the HK MP5 .
Compared to its predecessor TMP, the MP9 has a built-in Picatinny rail and a foldable shoulder rest.
