Braak is a district of the municipality Deensen , which belongs to the integrated municipality Eschershausen-Stadtoldendorf in the district of Holzminden , Lower Saxony . Braak has 201 inhabitants.

Braak is one of the villages in this area that were planned to be built at the instigation of Henry the Younger in the 16th century. The previous village in the same place was destroyed like other villages on the occasion of the Soest feud . It had a church, the ruins of which were later demolished. The new village did not have a church. A room in the half-timbered school building was also used as a chapel. In 1972 a cemetery chapel was built. The parish of the Protestant church Braak belongs to the parish of Stadtoldendorf. In 1875 the volunteer fire brigade was founded.

It lies between Solling and Holzberg .

On January 1, 1973 Braak was incorporated into the Deensen parish.
