The Samtgemeinde Eschershausen-Stadtoldendorf is a municipal association in the Holzminden district and was founded on January 1, 2011 through the merger of the Samtgemeinde Eschershausen and the Samtgemeinde Stadtoldendorf . The administrative seat is the city of Stadtoldendorf , in the city of Eschershausen there is a branch office with a citizens' office.

Joint community structure

The municipalities of Arholzen , Deensen , Dielmissen , Eimen , Heinade , Holzen , Lenne , Lüerdissen and Wangelnstedt as well as the cities of Eschershausen and Stadtoldendorf belong to the combined municipality .

On October 12, 2009, the joint municipal councils of the joint municipality of Eschershausen and the joint municipality of Stadtoldendorf in Eschershausen agreed to merge to form the new joint municipality of Eschershausen-Stadtoldendorf on January 1, 2011.

Joint mayor of the municipality

In the 2010 election, Wolfgang Anders (individual applicant, formerly CDU and previously joint mayor of Stadtoldendorf since November 1, 2006) was elected joint mayor of the new, merged joint community of Eschershausen-Stadtoldendorf with 69.33 percent. Competitor Andreas Fischer (SPD) received 30.67% of the valid votes. The turnout was 56.43%.

In the election on October 21, 2018, incumbent Wolfgang Anders, supported by the CDU, FDP and UWG, won with 68.11% of the vote. The competitor Alexander Müller (SPD) received 27.41% and the competitor Carsten Kramer (AfD) 4.49% of the valid votes. The turnout was 53.88%.

The joint municipality council of the new joint municipality Eschershausen-Stadtoldendorf was elected on November 7, 2010 and comprises 38 council members:

The joint municipality of Eschershausen-Stadtoldendorf is the public school provider for the primary schools in Deensen, Eschershausen and Stadtoldendorf and is divided into three school districts:

  1. Deensen primary school for the communities of Arholzen, Deensen and Heinade.
  2. Eschershausen primary school for the city of Eschershausen and the communities of Dielmissen, Eimen, Holzen and Lüerdissen
  3. Stadtoldendorf primary school for the city of Stadtoldendorf and the communities of Lenne and Wangelnstedt.

The integrated community also maintains seven kindergartens as daycare facilities for children and supports the kindergarten of the Evangelical Church Community in Stadtoldendorf.

The Samtgemeinde Eschershausen-Stadtoldendorf initially took over the coat of arms of the former Samtgemeinde Stadtoldendorf as a new emblem. In the main statute of the new regional authority, however, it is stipulated that a new coat of arms should be created by the end of 2013.
