The joint municipality Stadtoldendorf was a joint municipality in the district of Holzminden in Lower Saxony , Germany . It had its administrative seat in the city of Stadtoldendorf . On January 1, 2011, the Samtgemeinde merged with the Samtgemeinde Eschershausen to form the new Samtgemeinde Eschershausen-Stadtoldendorf .

Joint community structure
The municipalities of Arholzen , Deensen , Heinade , Lenne and Wangelnstedt as well as their administrative seat, the city of Stadtoldendorf, belonged to the joint municipality .
history
On December 17, 1970, the councils from the municipalities of Arholzen, Braak, Deensen, Denkiehausen, Emmerborn, Heinade, Hellental, Holenberg, Lenne, Linnenkamp, Merxhausen, Schorborn, Wangelnstedt and the city of Stadtoldendorf met and voted for the formation of a joint municipality of Stadtoldendorf January 1, 1971 with around 12,647 inhabitants.
With the "Law on the reorganization of the communities in the Holzminden area" announced on November 20, 1972, the following changes were made:
- Outsourcing of the municipality of Holenberg from the joint municipality of Stadtoldendorf and from January 1, 1973 integration into the joint municipality of Bevern ,
- Integration of the municipalities of Braak and Schorborn into the municipality of Deensen,
- Integration of the communities of Denkiehausen, Emmerborn and Linnenkamp to form the community of Wangelnstedt and
- Integration of the communities Heinade, Merxhausen, Hellental to the community Heinade.
In December 1996 there were 11,317 inhabitants and in August 2010 9,880 inhabitants lived in the combined municipality.
On October 12, 2009, the joint municipal councils of the joint municipality of Eschershausen and the joint municipality of Stadtoldendorf in Eschershausen agreed to merge to form the new joint municipality of Eschershausen-Stadtoldendorf , which took place on January 1, 2011.

Educational institutions
The joint municipality of Stadtoldendorf has two primary schools, a secondary school and a secondary school, a special school and four kindergartens. In addition, there is a branch of the local community college in Stadtoldendorf.
