The Samtgemeinde Eschershausen was a joint municipality in the north of the Holzminden district in Lower Saxony with its seat in Eschershausen . On January 1, 2011, the Samtgemeinde merged with the Samtgemeinde Stadtoldendorf to form the new Samtgemeinde Eschershausen-Stadtoldendorf .

The low mountain ranges Elfas , Vogler , Ith and Hils surround Eschershausen, which is thus in the middle of the Weserbergland .

The integrated community of Eschershausen consisted of the five communities Dielmissen , Eimen , Holzen , Lüerdissen and Eschershausen . A total of 6,727 residents lived in the municipality , 3,662 of them in the city of Eschershausen (as of June 2007).

history

In December 1996 there were 7,612 inhabitants in the municipality.

In 2001, the integrated municipality of Eschershausen had 7.06 million DM in the administrative budget and 562,000 DM in the property budget.

On October 12, 2009, the joint municipality councils of the joint municipality Eschershausen and the joint municipality Stadtoldendorf in Eschershausen agreed the merger to form the new joint municipality Eschershausen-Stadtoldendorf , which took place on January 1, 2011.
