The joint municipality Bodenwerder-Polle is a joint municipality in the district of Holzminden in Lower Saxony . The joint municipality was created on January 1, 2010 through the merger of the joint municipalities Bodenwerder and Polle . The administrative seat of the joint municipality is the Münchhausen town of Bodenwerder , in the Polle area there is a branch office with a citizens' office.

Geographical location
The combined community is located in the Weser Uplands and is traversed by the Weser . The Ottenstein plateau is located around Ottenstein . In addition, the entire community has a share in the Vogler and thus in the Solling-Vogler Nature Park . The Lenne flows into the Weser near Bodenwerder .

history
The joint municipal councils of Bodenwerder and Polle agreed on March 23, 2009 in Bodenwerder-Buchhagen to merge on January 1, 2010.

Joint council
The joint municipality council of the joint municipality of Bodenwerder-Polle consists of 30 councilors. This is the specified number for a municipality with a population between 12,001 and 15,000. The 30 council members are elected for five years each by local elections. The current term of office began on November 1, 2016.
The full-time Mayor of the Joint Community, Tanya Warnecke (CDU), is also entitled to vote in the Council of the Joint Community.
The last local election took place on September 11, 2016. It resulted in the following distribution of seats:
- CDU : 12 seats (40.30%)
- SPD : 12 seats (38.91%)
- Greens : 3 seats (11.79%)
- FDP: 2 seats (5.60%)
- UWG : 1 seat (3.40%)
The turnout was 61.57%.

Mayor of the municipality
Tanya Warnecke (CDU) has been the full-time mayor of the Bodenwerder-Polle community since 2016.
The election as mayor of the entire municipality on September 11, 2016 resulted in the following result:
- Tanya Warnecke (CDU): 41.92%
- Marie-Luise Niegel (SPD): 38.45%
- Ulrike Weißenborn (Greens): 19.64%
The turnout was 61.56%.
Since none of the candidates achieved the absolute majority required, a runoff election was necessary. In the second ballot on September 25, 2016, Tanya Warnecke was elected with 53.74% of the vote. Her opponent Marie-Luise Niegel (SPD) received 46.26% of the vote. The turnout was 47.22%. On November 1, 2016, Tanya Warnecke took over the office of mayor of the municipality, replacing Joachim Lienig, who had taken over the function since May 2010.
