Clockwise close to the town of Bad Pyrmont ( Landkreis Hameln-Pyrmont ) and Ottenstein , Brevörde and Polle (all bodenwerder-polle , district of Holzminden ).

Community structure

In addition to the center of Vahlbruch itself, the Meiborssen district to the south-east of it belongs to the community .

history

The village of Meiborssen was mentioned in documents in 1508 as Meibodessen or Maybarssen .

However, the name Vahlbruch is already mentioned as "Valebroch" in the list of witnesses in a document of the Counts of Everstein from 1263. There is a "Domino burgardo militi de valebroch", ie "Herr Burkhard, Lehnsmann von Vahlbruch".

From April 1922 Vahlbruch belonged to the Hameln-Pyrmont district . In the course of the territorial reform by law to reorganize the communities in the Holzminden area , Vahlbruch came to the district of Holzminden on January 1, 1973 and to the integrated community of Polle , which was founded in January 1973 .

In 1976 the gallery owner Rudolf Jüdes opened a weekend gallery of the Steintor Verlag in Meiborssen on an "old farm" . At the opening he brought works by Werner Hilsing , Woldemar Winkler , Akkitham Narayanan, Dusanka Jovic and Maximilian Hutlett. At the same time, the Steinhaus-Presse artist printing company had its headquarters in the same place. In the weekend gallery, Rudolf Jüdes showed numerous graphic exhibitions until the mid-1990s. Advertising material from the period between 1978 and 1984 has been preserved in the Holzminden city archive.

On October 18, 1988, a British F-4 Phantom II fighter plane crashed into a wooded area near Brevörde due to an engine failure . The two pilots Pete Lines and Colin Fryer can save themselves with the ejector seat in a field in Meiborssen. The combined municipality of Polle then demanded from the federal government in November 1988 a ban on low-level flights in the Upper Weser region.

Since January 1, 2010, the municipality of Vahlbruch has been part of the joint municipality of Bodenwerder-Polle .

church

St. Matthew's Church dates back to the time of the Reformation after 1535. The organ was built by the organ builder dynasty of the Euler family from Reinhardswald in 1845 and was thoroughly restored in 2009/2010 by the Wurm workshop from Neustadtgödens .

Economy and Infrastructure

In addition to agricultural and forestry operations, Vahlbruch also has a window and door construction company, a quarry and wind turbines, as well as an agricultural machinery trade with a repair shop. In Meiborssen there is also an elderly u. Retirement home.

The People's Bank in Emmerthal was represented for a long time in the village and merged to Volksbank Hameln-Stadthagen eG (formerly Volksbank Hameln-Pyrmont eG ).

The house numbers in Vahlbruch go back to the original yard sizes and are therefore confusing. In the center of the village there is a display with the current distribution.
