The joint community of Polle was from 1973 to 2009 a joint community on both sides of the upper Weser in the district of Holzminden in Lower Saxony with its seat in Polle .
Joint community structure
Brevörde (with Grave ), Heinsen , the two spots Ottenstein (with Lichtenhagen and Glesse) and Polle and Vahlbruch (with Meiborssen) belonged to the joint municipality .
history
The integrated community of Polle was created on January 1, 1973 through the law on the reorganization of the communities in the Holzminden area from the formerly independent communities in the Hameln-Pyrmont and Holzminden districts.
In December 1996 there were 5,203 inhabitants in the municipality.
In 2006, the combined municipality of Polle with 4,715 inhabitants was one of the few municipalities in Lower Saxony with only a low debt burden of 97 euros per inhabitant. The national average of the 138 integrated municipalities was 906 euros per inhabitant.
On March 23, 2009, the joint municipal councils of the joint municipality of Polle and the joint municipality of Bodenwerder in Buchhagen agreed to merge to form the new joint municipality of Bodenwerder-Polle on January 1, 2010.

Culture and sights
Buildings
The ruins of the more than 700 year old castle in Polle, formerly the seat of the Counts of Everstein, are important . The Everstein lion is still the dominant figure in the coat of arms of the Holzminden district, to which the municipality belongs.
