Dohnsen is a district of the municipality of Halle in the Holzminden district in Lower Saxony .

The place is located in the Ith börde in the Weserbergland around 2 km north of Halle. The headwaters of the Spüligbach , a right tributary of the Lenne, lie between Dohnsen and Bremke near the Ith .

On January 1, 1973 Dohnsen was incorporated into the community of Halle.
