Location of Linse in Lower Saxony

Linse is a district of the small town of Bodenwerder in the Holzminden district in Lower Saxony .

geography

The village lies on the north side of the Vogler ridge . The Spüligbach , a tributary of the Lenne , flows through the middle of the village. The Weser flows west 1.2 km away. The B 240 runs through the northern part of the town .

history

The former train station in Linse

In the early Middle Ages , Linse was in the south of Tilithigau and was mentioned in a document as Linisi in the Corveyer traditions . In the further course of the Middle Ages, the village belonged to the office of Hehlen of the noble lords of Homburg . In 1552/53 Vollrad von Mansfeld burned down the Salzhof in the village. In 1809/10 the village belonged to the canton of Halle (department of the Leine) . The chapel was consecrated in 1897. At the end of the 20th century, traffic on the rails of the Vorwohle-Emmerthaler Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft was discontinued. Since 2005, a route of the Loccum – Volkenroda pilgrimage route has been running along here.

The village coat of arms was approved on December 11, 1956 by the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior. Blazon : "A green oak in gold".

Attractions

  • The old oak in the middle of the village is under nature protection and is called "millennial oak". The oak has a BHU of 6.65 m.
  • Liebfrauenkapelle, with a work by Adolf Quensen , parish belonging to the Holzminden-Bodenwerder parish .
  • Castle stable of Lauenburg Castle on the Heiligenberg north-west of the village. The Lauenburg is an unfinished castle of the noble lords of Homburg east of the district road 10. The ring wall system west of the district road 10 is somewhat older.
  • Bismarck tower on the Eckberg west of the village.
