Bracebridge is a city in Canada and the administrative seat of the Muskoka District Municipality in Ontario .
The city was named Bracebridge Hall after a book by Washington Irving in 1875 . Bracebridge, with around 14,000 inhabitants, is located at the 45th parallel , i.e. exactly in the middle between the equator and the North Pole .
