Bradken is an Australian mining equipment company based in Mayfield West in the LGA Newcastle City in New South Wales . One focus of business activity is the casting of steel parts.

Bradken was founded in 1922 as Bradford Kendall Limited . Between 1981 and 2000 the company was part of the Australian National Industries (ANI). After ANI was acquired by Smorgon Steel in 2000, the company was sold to the private equity company CHAMP , which Bradken went public in August 2004.

With effect from March 20, 2017, Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. Ltd (HCM) , a company of the Hitachi Group, acquired Bradken Limited.

In 2007 Bradken opened a plant in Xuzhou (China), which was expanded again in 2013. There are u. A. Freight wagons manufactured for particularly high axle loads .
