Brahim Ghali , Arabic إبراهيم غالي, DMG Ibrāhīm Ġālī , also Ibrahim Ghali , (born August 19, 1949 in Smara ) is a Western Saharan politician.

Life

After the death of Mohamed Abdelaziz , he was elected General Secretary of the Frente Polisario and President of the Sahara Democratic Arab Republic (DARS) on July 9, 2016 .

Ghali is a co-founder of the Polisario and was the first general secretary of that independence movement from May 1973 to August 1974. He was Defense Minister of the first DARS government and has held several high positions in the Polisario and DARS.
