Howard Bond "Howie" Lockhart (born April 22, 1897 in North Bay , Ontario , † August 2, 1956 in Haliburton , Ontario) was a Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who , during his playing career between 1911 and 1927, among other things for the Toronto St. Patricks , Quebec Bulldogs , Hamilton Tigers and Boston Bruins played in the National Hockey League .

Career

Lockhart played for the team from his native city of North Bay , before he began in 1916, his military service in World War abzuleisten. He played in the 1916/17 season for the Toronto 228th Battalion in the National Hockey Association . This was initially his only professional assignment, as he was unable to practice the sport between 1917 and 1919 due to his military service for the same battalion .

In December 1919 - after the end of the First World War - the goalkeeper joined the Toronto St. Patricks from the National Hockey League , who loaned him to the Quebec Bulldogs over the course of the season and finally handed him over to the Hamilton Tigers in December 1920 . Lockhart played with the Tigers until the end of the 1921/22 season .

After another year break, the goalkeeper played sporadically for the Toronto St. Patricks and Boston Bruins in the 1923/24 and 1924/25 seasons before pausing again between 1925 and 1926. His last season as an active player he completed with the newly formed Hamilton Tigers in the also newly founded Canadian Professional Hockey League .
