Brainstorm was from the region of Baden-Baden originating jazz-rock band .
In 1968 Roland Schaeffer founded the rock formation Fashion Pink together with Eddy von Overheidt, Rainer Bodensohn, Joachim Koinzer, Helmut Rusch and Jürgen Argast . After Rusch and Argast left the company, the name was changed to Brainstorm in 1972 .
The repertoire of the formation ranged from progressive rock to experimental jazz rock. Brainstorm had numerous live, radio and television appearances and was known far beyond the borders of Baden-Baden. Their humorous jazz rock could be described as a mixture of Frank Zappa and Canterbury sound .
The band existed from 1972 to 1975 and released 2 LPs ( Smile a while 1972 and Second smile 1973). Posthumously , the recording of a concert on June 23, 1973 in the TH Bremen was released with “Bremen 1973” , as well as a performance from 1974 under the title Last smile .
