The Brandberg Tunnel connects the villages of Mayrhofen-Laubichl and Brandberg in the Zillertal . This tunnel takes you from the Zillertal Straße (B 169) to the opposite valley ( Zillergrund ), on the course of the Ziller , without having to drive through the town of Mayrhofen.

The tunnel was originally built as an access to the Zillergründl power plant construction site and therefore has a rather unusual high gradient for road tunnels.
