Brandeis Verlag und Medien is a German specialist publisher for the furniture haulage sector and operator of a relocation portal with its headquarters in Flörsheim am Main .

history

Brandeis has been the publisher of a German-language specialist magazine for moving companies and furniture hauliers, möbelspediteur , since 1946 . With license no. 15 of January 20, 1946, the occupation authorities in Schleswig-Holstein granted the publisher Werner Brandeis from Lübeck permission to publish the specialist magazine der möbelspediteur . In March 1947, cooperation began with the federal association of furniture transport companies, which was still in the process of being organized, at that time still the " inter-zone working committee of the furniture transport industry", which commissioned the publisher to publish the furniture transport company as the association's official organ. In the decades that followed, the publisher worked closely with the federal association to develop a comprehensive product portfolio that was tailored to the needs of the professional group of furniture hauliers and moving companies. This included forms, manuals, tariff and address books and wagon lists that could be used to organize load space compensation. At the end of 2012, the Bundesverband Möbelspedition und Logistik (AMÖ) eV ended its collaboration with the Möbelspediteur. Since January 2013, the publication has been produced for the first time in history as an independent trade journal with an independent editorial team. The editor-in-chief is led by the journalist Marc Weinard.

Brandeis Verlag und Medien GmbH & Co. KG is a wholly-owned subsidiary of DMG AG based in Flörsheim am Main. After it was founded in 1946 in Oldenburg by the publisher Werner Brandeis (1902–1975), the publishing house was relocated several times, first in 1955 to Frankfurt am Main , then in 1987 to Neu-Isenburg . Since the takeover by DMG AG in 1999, Brandeis Verlag und Medien has had its headquarters in Hattersheim am Main. The publishing house has been in Flörsheim since January 2012.

Products

The Umzugportal Umzuege.de is a web address for moving and moving companies in the German-speaking network. Since 1997, the publishing house has made it its business to facilitate contacts between moving companies and those moving. The specialist magazine der möbelspediteur was published every 14 days from 1946 to 2012 in 25 issues per year. In January 2013 the frequency of publication was changed to a monthly one. In addition to news from the industry, the main focus is on information on politics, economics, corporate management, technology and law.

With around 3,000 entries, the FEDEMAC address book, which is published annually, is a European address directory of internationally active moving companies. The basis for the daily work of the moving companies and their customers are forms such as moving and storage contracts, employment certificates and insurance certificates. In addition, advertising material such as calendars and brochures - such as the “moving guide with” tips and tricks for moving customers - are among the publisher's specific products.
