The Bundesverband Möbelspedition und Logistik eV (AMÖ) is the umbrella organization of the German furniture shipping company . Together with 18 regional member associations, the AMÖ represents the interests of around 1,000 member companies. These are active in the areas of relocation, retail furniture logistics, IT and art shipping. Before the name Federal Association became common, the association was called "Arbeitsgemeinschaft Möbeltransport", or AMÖ for short.

Every single AMÖ freight forwarder is a direct member of the responsible regional association. In addition to the German member associations, the AMÖ also counts the Group Internationaler Möbelspediteure e. V. (GIM) to its members.

Association purpose

The main task of the AMÖ as a commercial agency is to influence the general conditions applicable to the furniture hauliers and thus to ensure the long-term viability of the member companies. The association represents the concerns of its members in relation to politics, the ministries as well as authorities, industry and trade. The interests of the new furniture forwarders are represented through close connections to the organizations of the furniture trade and furniture industry. In the area of relocation, the central associations of consumer protection organizations are discussion partners of the AMÖ.

At the national level, the AMÖ lobbies politicians and administrators in order to exert its influence on legal, ordinance and enactment projects. She works in an advisory and supportive manner on salary and collective wage agreements at the federal and state level. It supports the member companies in vocational training and the professional qualification of employees. For some years now, there has been training to become a specialist in furniture, kitchen and moving services (FMKU).
