Incandescence

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As fire cast moldings is known from cast iron , which in a coal -fired were deployed system. They include, for example, fire grates and cast iron stove trains . The sulfur that is present in the coal and released during combustion combines with the iron over the time the cast part is used and is chemically deposited in the material, with sulfur contents of up to 5% in the cast iron. Since even small amounts of sulfur can embrittle steel , incendiary casting may only be used in small amounts in steelmaking from scrap .
