Brasserie Trio

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Brasserie Trio is an Italian jazz ensemble.

The Brasserie Trio performed for the first time at the Moers Jazz Festival in 1992. It consists of the multi-instrumentalists Alberto Mandarini (trumpet), Lauro Rossi (trombone) and Carlo Actis Dato (saxophone).

The band's repertoire consists of elements from free jazz to oriental music; influences from African and Italian (tarantella) folk music are also processed. In addition to the serious musical intention, elements of humor and visual moments of representation flow into the stage show. The Brasserie Trio has performed at several European jazz festivals and, since it does not require an amplification system, it also played in unusual places such as the Mulhouse forest, an old abbey in Le Mans and a supermarket in Grenoble .

Alberto Mandarini, Claudio Rossi and Carlo Actis Dato are also members of the Italian Instabile Orchestra and have worked on recordings by the jazz band Enten Eller and on records by Enrico Fazio and Guido Mazzon .
