Enrico Fazio

Enrico Fazio (* 1956 ) is an Italian jazz - bassist - composer and bandleader .

Life

Fazio became known in the Italian jazz scene through his participation in the Centro Musica Creativa around 1977, worked as a bassist from 1974 to 1983 in the Art Studio formation , in which Claudio Lodati , Carlo Actis Dato and Fiorenzo Sordini also played. He was then a member of Carlo Actis Dato's quartet, with whom he performed at numerous festivals. From 1987 Fazio worked with his own ensembles with, among others, Dato, Fiorenzo Sordini, Giovanni Falzone , Francesco Aroni Vigone , Gianpiero Malfatto and Massimiliano Gilli .

Fazio has also been involved in the recordings of many international and Italian musicians, such as Steve Lacy , Tristan Honsinger , Keith Tippett , Gianluigi Trovesi , Franz Koglmann , Massimo Urbani , Claudio Fasoli , Franco D'Andrea , Eugenio Colombo , Luca Bonvini , Maggie Nicols , Julie Tippetts , Roberto Ottaviano , Tiziana Ghiglioni , Renato Geremia , Alan Tomlinson and others.

In 1989 Fazio received the first prize at the Concorso Nazionale di composizione ed arrangiamento as part of the jazz festival in Sant'Anna Arresi , which was dedicated to Charles Mingus .
