Tiziana Ghiglioni (born October 25, 1956 in Savona ) is an Italian jazz singer .

Live and act

Ghiglioni a concert of began after visiting Archie Shepp for Jazz to care. In 1979 she attended a workshop by Giorgio Gaslini . Then she took singing lessons from Gabriella Ravazzi, toured with the Gaslini big band and her own formation. In 1981 she released her first album ( Lonely Woman ) on the Dischi della Quercia label . She performed at all Italian festivals and worked with Franco D'Andrea , Enrico Pieranunzi , Paolo Fresu , Roberto Gatto , Gianluigi Trovesi and Giancarlo Schiaffini . Over the next few years she recorded with numerous American musicians such as Steve Lacy ( Somebody Special ), Mal Waldron |, Chico Freeman Paul Bley ( Lyrics ), Lee Konitz , Tony Scott , Lauren Newton , but also with Enrico Rava , Roberto Ottaviano ( portrait in Six Colors ), Michel Graillier Tarcisio Olgiati and Renato Selani. She also toured with Joëlle Léandre , Irène Schweizer , Lindsay Cooper and Maggie Nichols .

She studied the songs of Steve Lacy, Luigi Tenco , Giorgio Gaslini, Duke Ellington and Lucio Battisti , which she presented in special programs (and on albums).

Prizes and awards

Her album SONB was recognized as one of the best albums of 1992 in Musica Jazz magazine. In 1994 she received the Targa Tenco in Sanremo as best interpreter. Between 2007 and 2010 she was nominated for the best jazz singer at the Italian Jazz Awards .
