Nico Gori

Nico Gori (born September 13, 1975 in Florence ) is an Italian jazz musician ( clarinet , saxophone ).

Live and act

Gori started playing the clarinet at the age of six. After graduating from the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence in 1993 , he took classes with Dave Liebman and Tony Scott ; as early as 1987 he played in theaters, clubs, festivals and in TV programs of the RAI . The first recordings were made in 1998, and from 1999 he worked a. a. with Stefano Bollani and Enrico Rava . In 2003 he recorded the debut album Groovin 'High with his quartet for the Philology label . In the same year he taught at Washington University in St. Louis , where he a. a. also performed with Dave Weckl . In 2006 he was a member of the Vienna Art Orchestra ; In 2009 he started working with Tom Harrell and Fred Hersch .
