Claudio Fasoli (* 29. November 1939 in Venice ) is an Italian jazz - saxophonist (tenor and soprano saxophone) and composer of modern jazz .

Fasoli became known in the Italian jazz scene at the latest in the 1970s through his membership in the Perigeo Quartet , in which Franco D'Andrea and Giovanni Tommaso also played. After the group disbanded in 1978, he began to work with his own formations, mostly trios or quartets; In 1979 the album Hinterland with Enrico Pieranunzi , Bruno Tommaso , Roberto Gatto and Giancarlo Schiaffini as well as the album Jazz Duo , which he recorded with Franco D'Andrea , was released on the Edipan label .

He founded the saxophone courses at the Civic School of Jazz in Milan and taught jazz at several Italian conservatories and was artistic director of the Padua Jazz Festival in 2003 .
