Giorgio Visibelli

Giorgio Visibelli (* in Siena ) is an Italian jazz saxophonist (tenor and soprano saxophone) and flautist, as well as band leader and composer .

Visibelli studied in Livorno , where he completed his flute studies in 1981 with a diploma at the “P. Mascagni ” graduated from Luciano Brigidi ; he also had saxophone lessons with Claudio Fasoli and Gianluigi Trovesi at the national jazz music seminars in Siena. In September 1981 he moved to Boston , where he studied jazz at Berklee College of Music until the end of 1983 , a. a with John LaPorta , Joe Viola , Gary Burton , George Garzone , Andy McGhee , Bill Pierce and Jerry Bergonzi .

In 1982 he was a member of the radio orchestra that Bruno Tommaso directed for the RAI program “Un Certo Discorso”. He then played in Stefano Battaglia's Quartet (1986), with Fabio Jegher ("Atmospheres", 1987), in the Gianni Coscia Quintet (1987), in Arrigo Cappelletti New Latin Ensemble (1988), worked with Tiziana Simona and Mal Waldron (1988 / 1999), the Neji Trio (1989), the Gianni Basso Tullio De Piscopo Big Band (1990), the Paul Wertico Quartet (1992), the Grande Orchestra Nazionale dell 'AMJ (1995), the Paliaga-Visibelli- Tavolazzi- Stranieri Quartet (1995), Giorgio Gaslini (“Mister O”, 1996), Claudio Angeleris Orchestra Tascabile (1999), Sandro Cerinos Crescendo Big Band (1998) and the Franco Ambrosetti Tentet (2005). He also appeared as a guest musician on Visibelli's album "Via Maestra".

Giorgio Visibelli teaches at workshops such as the “Civici Corsi di Jazz di Milano”, the “Siena Jazz International Workshop” and the “CDPM di Bergamo” as well as at the “Rossini” Conservatory in Pesaro .
