The Brattnipane (Norwegian for Steep Peaks ) are a group of mountain peaks in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . They rise 15 km northwest of Mefjell in the Sør Rondane mountains .
Norwegian cartographers, who also made the descriptive naming, mapped it in 1957 using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 and during Operation Highjump (1946–1947) carried out by the United States Navy .
