Brattstranda ( Norwegian for Rugged Coast ) are rocky cliffs in Princess Elisabeth Land in East Antarctica . They rise 5 km east-northeast of the island of Hovden in the Prydz Bay area of the Ingrid-Christensen coast .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named it, mapped the formation in 1946 using aerial photographs taken in 1936 during the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 .
