Buckingham Nicks is a pop - album of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks , as Buckingham Nicks occurred. It was released on September 5, 1973 as a long-playing record .
history
Buckingham and Nicks, who met at school, played together in the band Fritz in 1966 and 1967 . After the band split up in 1971, Buckingham and Nicks continued their musical careers as a duo. They performed with Waddy Wachtel and Jorge Calderon in 1972 .
The music of their first and last album as a duo was recorded at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles . The album cover was designed by Waddy's brother Jimmy Wachtel. For this purpose, Buckingham and Nicks were photographed naked. The album was received positively by critics and fellow musicians, but sold poorly. So her record label Polydor kicked her out while working on a second album.
The duo continued to perform live but couldn't make a living from the music until they came into contact with Mick Fleetwood in late 1974 . In 1975 they joined the English band Fleetwood Mac .
The album was never officially released on CD .
