The Privatbrauerei Bauer GmbH was a brewery based in Sankt Wolfgang in Upper Bavaria .

history

The brewery was founded in 1691. It also operated under the names of the Martin Bauer Brewery (1883), the Georg Bauer Brewery (1912), the Maria Bauer Brewery (1959), the Georg Bauer Brewery (1969) and the Georg Bauer GmbH Brewery (1989). Some of the beers were marketed under the name Goldachperle , with reference to the Goldach River , which runs through Sankt Wolfgang.

In 1993, the Bauer GmbH private brewery was acquired by Hans Hartl . The company was deleted from the commercial register on August 29, 1996 after Hartl had founded the private brewery St. Wolfgang GmbH to operate the brewery .

After the owner's personal bankruptcy, triggered by Hartl's other holdings, the business purpose of the private brewery St. Wolfgang GmbH was changed to "ownership and operation of the former Bauer Brewery GmbH in St. Wolfgang" and the company headquarters relocated to Oberschleißheim . The company was finally dissolved in 2004 and liquidated by 2010 .

The former company building is located next to the Wolfgang Town Hall and until the summer of 2012 still had the company's logo. After the brewery was closed, part of the building was used as a restaurant and then as a dance hall until around 2014. At the end of 2014, the municipality of Sankt Wolfgang acquired the site, including the brewery, as well as a neighboring property, in order to use it for residential, commercial, public and communal use after redevelopment. The construction project had not started by autumn 2018.
