The Döbler brewery is a family brewery with over 150 years of brewing tradition in Bad Windsheim .

history

In 1867 Johann Leonhard Döbler took over property no. 466 with brewing and spirits rights from Johann Nikolaus Reuthlingshöfer for a purchase price of 17,000 guilders.

After the company's founder died in 1880, his wife Margarete Barbara continued to run the business until their son Wilhelm I. Döbler took over the brewery in 1885. Wilhelm I. Döbler died in 1944. His wife Anna Martha continued to run the business in the difficult post-war period. Six years later, Wilhelm II. Döbler and his wife Erna took over the company.

At that time, the brewery was still technically as it was in the 19th century. However, this was to change very soon: They first relocated the storage cellars to the vaulted cellar located in the house on Kornmarkt and at the same time installed an ammonia cooling machine. A semi-automatic filling system was soon put into operation to fill the bottles. Soon, however, the space became too cramped and it was decided to expand to the neighboring property, where the cellar house with fermentation and storage cellar was then housed.

1986 took over Wilhelm III. and Elke Döbler the brewery. They only use malting barley from controlled contract cultivation to produce their beers .

Brewery restaurant

The brewery restaurant on Kornmarkt in the center of Bad Windsheim has been part of the brewery since the beginning of the company's history. Four types of home-brewed draft beers are served there all year round and typical Franconian snacks are on offer. In summer, the beer garden at the Kornmarkt - right on the Aischtalradweg - is a destination for excursions.
