The Aisch Valley Cycle Path is a 137-kilometer cycle path in Central and Upper Franconia . It connects Rothenburg ob der Tauber with Bamberg . The path runs through the valley of the Aisch .

Profile and characteristics

With a few exceptions, the Aisch Valley Cycle Path always runs on developed, asphalted cycle paths or field or forest paths. Only the first 20 kilometers from Rothenburg ob der Tauber have inclines at the Frankenhöhe Nature Park. Otherwise, the cycle path has no major inclines and is easy to drive on. The paths are signposted.

The Aisch Valley Railway was finally shut down in the mid-1990s. The rails were dismantled. The Aisch Valley Cycle Path now runs along parts of the old route.

variants

At Höchstadt an der Aisch the tour can be continued first along the Aisch and later on the Main-Danube Canal to Bamberg (102 km). Alternatively, the tour can be continued via Hausen and Forchheim on the Main-Danube Canal to Bamberg (137 km).
