Braulio Castillo

Braulio Castillo (born March 30, 1933 in Bayamón , † February 28, 2015 in Trujillo Alto ) was a Puerto Rican actor.

Castillo began his theater career as a poetry reciter. After a bachelor's degree as an actor, he was able to perfect his training in Pasadena. After his return to Puerto Rico he took part in several melodramas, including El derecho de nacer and La mujer de aquella noche with Gladys Rodríguez . In 1960 he recorded the telenovela Simplemente María for Panamericana de Televisión in Peru with Saby Kamalich and Ricardo Blume, followed by the feature film of the same name in Argentina. During this time, he was partner of the puppet Topo Gigio in children's television .

In Mexico he then shot the films Renzo el gitano and El cielo y tú . He suffered a head injury while filming the latter. Memory and language problems as a result forced him to end his career, apart from minor television appearances. His sons Jorge and Braulio Castillo Jr. also became known as actors.
