The arrow-marked babbler ( Turdoides jardineii ) is a species of bird from the family of Häherlinge (Leiothrichidae).
description
The brown offshoot has an evenly dark brown plumage, which is interspersed with white lines on the chest. The yellow eye with a red border is characteristic. The adult animal reaches a size of 21 to 24 cm.
The appearance of male and female birds is the same. Fledglings have brown eyes instead of yellow ones. In addition, the white line pattern on the chest is less pronounced.
habitat
The brown offshoot can be found in wooded areas and bushland. Its distribution area is south-eastern Africa (north-eastern South Africa , eastern Botswana , Zimbabwe , southern Mozambique ). It is widespread and not endangered. The brown offshoot lives in groups of up to 12 birds. The arrow-marked babbler is particularly common from Kapkuckuck parasitized, widespread in Africa cuckoo that the obligatory brood parasites belongs.
