The brown lobster ( Panulirus echinatus ) is a species from the lobster family .
The maximum body length of this lobster species is 39 centimeters. It can be found in the Central Atlantic around the Central Atlantic Islands and on the coast of northeast Brazil .
The brown lobster is one of the shallow water species among the lobsters and lives in a sea depth of 0 to a maximum of 35 meters. It prefers to live on rocky floors, is nocturnal like all lobster species and hides in crevices during the day. Egg-bearing females have a carapace of 5 to 10 centimeters.
