Reinhard Riegel
Reinhard Riegel (born June 11, 1942 in Munich ; † January 4, 2000 in Bonn ) was a German legal scholar . He was Ministerialrat in the Federal Ministry of the Interior .
Riegel studied law at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg . At the beginning of the seventies Riegel was active in the Bavarian civil service and among other things worked as a public prosecutor at the Ansbach district court . He then moved to the Federal Ministry of the Interior in 1975. From October 1978 to September 1986 he headed the department responsible for the security authorities at the office of the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection . Subsequently, he was head of division in the service law department of the Federal Ministry of the Interior.
Since Riegel did not want to leave his home when the federal government moved from Bonn to Berlin, he took on a position in charge of advanced training in the European and international area at the Federal Academy for Public Administration .
He has published numerous papers on police law and data protection law .
