The Federal Academy of Public Administration in the Federal Ministry of the Interior, for construction and home ( BAköV ) is the central training seinrichtung the federal and qualification service providers for all federal agencies . It was founded in 1969, is an "organizationally independent part" of the ministry and therefore does not belong to the subordinate area. Their task is to train the employees of the federal administration in a practical way.

Training offer

In 2016, 1428 events were held at the BAKöV (2015: 1328), which were attended by 18,364 participants (2015: 17,456). These came mainly from many different federal authorities, but also from states and municipalities . 56 percent of the participants were female and mostly belonged to the upper class .

structure

The BAKöV consists of five teaching groups:

  • Teaching Group 1 - Principle and Coordination; Service Center Berlin -
  • Teaching group 2 - General advanced training; EU - and international competences -
  • Teaching group 3 - Coaching center -
  • Teaching group 4 - Leadership / behavioral skills ; Personnel development -
  • Teaching group 5 - IT and organizational skills -

In 2016, there were 52 employees at BAKöV, of which 23 were women, 11 part-time and 47 at the headquarters in Brühl. 23 employees were in the higher service , 19 in the upper service and 10 in the middle service . There were 368 lecturers on duty.

In 1969 the Federal Academy was headed by Theodor Brockmann . Presidents were Karl-Heinz Mattern (1970–1983), Alfred Dimpker (1983–1990), Helmut Kitschenberg (1990–1995) and Günther Wurster (1995–2013). Alexander Eisvogel has been in office since 2013 .

Locations

Its headquarters are in Brühl near Cologne . External offices exist at the offices of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the Federal Ministry of the Interior, for Building and Home Affairs in Bonn , in the Bundeshaus in Berlin - Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf , in the Zeuthen guest house near Berlin and in the Boppard seminar building . The latter was opened in 1987 in the former Franciscan monastery , where it is still housed today. Decentralized training events take place in smaller numbers in Hanover , Wiesbaden and Munich .

The Federal University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration (HS Bund) has supported the BAKöV as part of an administrative association since 1998. Both share a building. The Federal Finance Academy is located on the same site .
