The house Braunschweiger Straße 99 is a listed residential building in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located on the south side of Braunschweiger Strasse in Magdeburg's Sudenburg district . The building is a single monument in the Braunschweiger Straße 1–10, 98–108 monument area . The building, which is also listed, is adjacent to Braunschweiger Strasse 100 to the east .

Architecture and history

The four-storey building was built with a rear wing, like the neighboring building number 100, for the timber merchant Friedrich Klaus . The prestigiously designed six-axis facade with its plaster elements is designed in the neo-renaissance style. The extreme left axis emerges as a flat risalit . There are stucco decorations in Mannerist style on the window parapets .

The residential building is listed as a historical building under registration number 094 81939 in the monument register for Magdeburg .

As part of the row of houses from the Wilhelminian era that has been preserved, the building is a defining feature of the street scene and an important document for the structural development of Sudenburg during the construction period. Currently (as of 2017) the house is in need of renovation.
