Brdská oblast

Brdská oblast or Brdská podsoustava (German: Brdy area , or Brdy subsystem ) is a geomorphological unit in central and western Bohemia in the Czech Republic . It includes u. a. the cities of Prague , Kladno , Beroun and Slaný .
The area is part of the Poberounská subprovincie ( Berounka subprovince ) and is divided into
- Džbán ( Krugwald ),
- Pražská plošina ( Prague plateau ),
- Křivoklátská vrchovina ( Pürglitzer Uplands ),
- Hořovická pahorkatina ( Horschowitz Highlands ),
- Brdská vrchovina ( Brdywald / Ridge Forest ).
The region is characterized by mostly forested hilly lands. The highest peak is the 865 m high Tok in the Brdy Mountains.
