Breadloaf Island ( English for loaf island ) is an island in the southeastern part of Prydz Bay on the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land . It is located 0.7 km west of Easther Island and 6.3 km west-northwest of the Law Racoviță station in the Larsemann Hills area .

Norwegian cartographers mapped them using aerial photographs of the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . A team of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions named them descriptively after their shape in the course of explorations of the Larsemann Hills carried out between 1986 and 1987.
