Breitbild is a Grisons hip-hop group founded in 1999 . The members call themselves Phlegma , Vali , Thom , Hyphen and DJ Jäger .

music

The band raps in Bündnerdeutsch . On the album "Legenda" she is accompanied by a band called Toshman & Rabbit . The album reached number 13 on the Swiss album charts. With the help of their band, they combine hip-hop with other styles of their live band, such as funk or drum & jazz .

founding

In the beginning, Breitbild comprised around 15 young people between the ages of 15 and 16, all of whom had started rapping a year before the merger. The name refers to the broad field of artists. They got to know each other at parties, at school and through their music.

language

According to their own statement, they rap in their mother tongue and dialect in order to address everyone and to reach them honestly and directly. Your sentences are simple and easy to understand. They try to be clear about their ideas and feelings. They rap about love, politics and the ups and downs in life.

Bauer

Breitbild belongs to the Bauers collective, which unites various Swiss hip-hop artists such as Section Kuchikäschtli , Luut & Tüütli , X-Chaibä (pronounced: Chrüzchäibe), Plan B, Vizioso and the lost Bauer Gimma . The crew call themselves Bauers to demonstrate their solidarity with their rural homeland.
