Brendan MacKay (born June 7, 1997 in Calgary ) is a Canadian freestyle skier . He starts in the halfpipe discipline .

Career

MacKay took part in the World Cup for the first time in Copper Mountain in January 2013 and finished in 33rd place. He finished seventh at the 2017 World Championships in Sierra Nevada . In March 2017, he achieved his first top ten finish in the World Cup with fifth place in Tignes . In the 2018/19 season he made it into the top ten twice in the World Cup and thus achieved ninth place in the Halfpipe World Cup. At the season highlight, the 2019 World Championships in Park City , he finished 11th. In the following season he reached four top ten finishes, including second place in Calgary , 13th place in the overall World Cup and fourth place in the Halfpipe World Cup. He won the bronze medal at the Winter X Games 2020 in Aspen .
