Brian Chase (born December 2, 1978 ) is an American jazz and rock musician ( drums , composition ).

Live and act

Chase grew up on Long Island and attended the Friends Academy in Locust Valley, then the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Oberlin, Ohio. From the 2000s he played in the rock and avant-garde groups Yeah Yeah Yeahs , Karen O and the Kids , The Seconds , Pale Horse and with the Fretless Brothers ( Footsteps , with Jon Catler, Dane Johnson, Hansford Rowe). As a duo with Seth Misterka , he presented his first album in 2006 ( Duo , Heathen Skulls); In 2013 the solo production Drums & Drones (Pogus Productions) followed under his own name . He also worked in the jazz / avant-garde field in duo and trio projects with Andrea Parkins ( Avalanche of Routes , 2016), Peter Aaron ( Purges , 2016), Catherine Sikora ( Untitled: After , 2018) and with Thollem McDonas / Todd Clouser ( Dub Narcotic Session Vol II , 2018).
