Brian Haig (* 15. March 1953 ) is an American thriller - Author .

Military time

Haig graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1975 and became a lieutenant . He served in Germany and for three years in Fort Carson , Colorado . After completing his Masters at Harvard and further training in military strategy, he worked for three years as a global strategist in the United States Army and was responsible for regional war plans in Southwest Asia and global war plans against the Soviet Union . He was also Special Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the United Nations Command and Combined Forces Command in Seoul for three years . Haig ended his military career as a special assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff , John M. Shalikashvili .

After the military service

Haig left the military in 1997 to become director and later president of Erickson Air-Crane . He later served as President of International Business Communications for a year . He has written articles for the New York Times , USA Today, and Vanity Fair . Haig is currently a full-time writer and works as a military advisor for Fox News .

Haig holds a BS from the United States Military Academy , a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard , and a Masters in Government from Georgetown University . His military awards include airborne wings and the Ranger tab , two Legion of Merit, and the Distinguished Service Medal .

Brian Haig is the son of 4-star general and former US Secretary of State Alexander Haig .
